AXS Folk Technology

AXS Folk Technology is the brainchild of designer Kyle Ng (Farm Tactics). Bearing the heady hallmarks of Ng's earthy Berkeley, CA roots, AXS Folk Technology blazes a new trail in the convergence of the outdoors and men's contemporary fashion. Both Ng's own personal design philosophy and the inspiration for his debut collection for AXS Folk Technology are perhaps best articulated by French spiritual para-surrealist writer René Daumal in his posthuously published novel, Mount Analogue.
"Alpinism is the art of climbing mountains by confronting the greatest dangers with the greatest prudence. Art is used here to mean the accomplishment of knowledge in action. You cannot always stay on the summits. You have to come down again... So what's the point?

Only this: what is above knows what is below, what is below does not know what is above. While climbing, take note of all the difficulties along your path. During the descent, you will no longer see them, but you will know that they are there if you have observed carefully. There is an art to finding your way in the lower regions by the memory of what you have seen when you were higher up. When you can no longer see, you can at least still know..."

AXS Folk Technology's debut collection is now available in store at MILKMADE.

Polanski 02

What started out as a blog of found imagery, Polanski made the leap into physical form in 2011. Each issue is hand-numbered and printed offset in editions of 500.

From founder Irwin Tobias Matutina:

"After a while, pulling found images online and posting it on a blog got old. Polanski needed to be to taken out of a blog format and be something tangible similar to an art zine. We started reaching out to photographers, whose work we enjoyed and reflected what we wanted to see in a publication. Luckily, a lot of them wanted to contribute their work."

Polanski 02 is now available in limited quantities at MILKMADE. Grab your hand-numbered copy, here.
