Sold exclusively in the U.S. at Milkmade, Mature is a small, independent hat line from Kobe, Japan. Each unisex hat is hand-crafted by the two owners/designers Yuki Kayama & Masayuki Takata using locally-sourced fabrics and materials.



The VÆL Project is a premium footwear and accessories line created by M. Coleman Horn. Made for the "wandering global creative" consumer with an understanding of and appreciation for quality, VÆL's  products incorporate meticulously researched and travel-tested materials.

Due to the overwhelming response we've received regarding Handcut by Preloved, Milkmade is taking pre-orders on the collection for in-store pickup only. Below, you can view the array of styles available: to the left is a legend diagramming the types of "pre-loved" material used to create the piece on the right. Because each piece is one-of-a-kind, variations in color & fabric should be expected. For example, all Robyn sweaters are constructed from 4 separate thin sweaters, however no 2 Robyn sweaters will be made from the same exact combination of sweaters.

Sneak Peek: Preloved S/S 2009

I'll be the first to admit that recycled clothing, or "hand-me-downs" as I used to know it, albeit environmentally friendly, isn't always the first thing that comes to mind when I think of sexy. But don't call Handcut by Preloved "recycled". Don't dare even call it "repurposed". Each garment is a one-of-a-kind creation made from reconstructed vintage clothing (e.g. men's wool blazers, trousers, trench coats, etc.) and even vintage curtains! By their own estimation, Preloved has thus far rescued over 60,000 wool sweaters, 20,000 wool trousers, 10,000 dress shirts, & 7,000 trench coats from the landfills of Canada (and the Aardvark's of Los Angeles). Handcut by Preloved comes to Milkmade this Spring. Now that's sexy.
