Sneak Peek: Vanishing Elephant S/S '09
February 1, 2009
This spring, Milkmade is proud to welcome Vanishing Elephant's debut collection, "Paper Cuts". Hailing from Australia, Vanishing Elephant "treads a fine line between designer threads and tailored street wear. With a mostly monochromatic colour palette, in dark shades of charcoal, white, and red, Vanishing Elephant’s aesthetic is a combination of classic prep with contemporary street wear. The silhouettes combine a comfortable wearable shape up top and more fitted styles down bottom."
In developing this collection, Vanishing Elephant's Felix Chan and Huw Bennett enlisted "the help of fellow fashion luminary Aaron Russell (of Marshall Artist and Maharishi fame) [and] the result is a carefully considered collection, comprised of woven shirts, denim jeans, printed tees, fine jersey sweats, tailored pants and leather jackets, each piece is created with a unique attention to detail."

From articles cataloging the history and provenance of essential designs & designers (e.g. 10 reasons why standard item is standard) to style "case studies" showcasing 3 iterations of a classic piece, each issue of 2nd is, at once, a visual reference guide and lifestyle text.
PLEASE EXCUSE THE CURRENT STATE OF THE SITE. WE'RE PRESENTLY WORKING TO RESOLVE SOME TECHNICAL ISSUES. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE--Milkmade
